worship arts

Service Times: 9:00 & 10:45 AM

“In the beginning, God created…” Genesis 1:1  God is the Ultimate Creator. He created everything we see and experience. From the overwhelming expansiveness of the universe to the micro-miracles that make up the cellular level – all that is beautiful, inspiring, challenging, and overwhelming has been created by God himself. In Genesis 1:27, the Bible says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” So if we are created in His likeness and He is the author of creativity, then Worship Arts is the “outlet” through which the Creator may flow. Worship is defined as loving, admiring, or respecting greatly and/or excessively or without question or pause. Worship can be placed upon anything in our lives. We can worship money, fame, success, work, animals, people–whatever we place high value on is a form of worship. We recognize Jesus as the only One truly worthy of the definition and application of worship. The arts—the activities enjoyed for the beauty they create or the way they present ideas….Art is not only meant to be beautiful but to be representative, expressive, and inspiring. Our goal is to inspire God-worship through the creative arts. Song, dance, painting, sculpture, photography, drama, lighting, stage design – any form of creative expression that enhances our God-worship and builds each other up to glorify God in our everyday lives. Whether you play an instrument, sing, act, paint, draw, dance, or have a tech savvy inclination, there are many opportunities to express our God-worship through creative art here at Salem First. Let us know if you’re interested in joining the journey of creative outflow for God’s glory and purpose.

The Celebration Choir is not currently meeting due to the global pandemic. Look for updates in the coming months.

Do you have a sense of calling to worship leadership and a desire to share your musical gifting with this community? The Celebration Orchestra is a group of dedicated, passionate volunteers that serve the body through instrumental music. As much as musical competence is a bottom-line necessity, Salem Naz is primarily looking for men and women, from high-school age up, who have a heart to worship God and be unified in spirit and purpose. Again, from our perspective, worship is about offering all that we are, with discernment, in order to bless God and others. If you are interested in getting involved or just have questions, contact our office.
